Direct Energy is looking for a passionate and dynamic UX/UI Design manager to create and maintain a world class customer experience across Direct Energy's Services & Energy websites and supporting content.
This individual is responsible for leading and managing the Digital User Experience design team in creating engaging, user-focused experiences.
This includes providing vision and direction on all design and development initiatives and driving those efforts to successful completion by giving support and guidance to UX designers engaged in the work.
We want someone who loves diving in to understand all facets of a problem and then can help reframe the problem to define strategies and turn those into design opportunities.
The role helps nurture and build a supportive team environment of continual learning, reflection and improvement.
He/she knows how to make tradeoffs to meet business needs while still delivering iteratively towards an optimal solution.
As the Manager of design, you will mentor UX designers and help develop team practices and capabilities.
You will be the champion for the team, evangelizing the work they do and its impact.
AccountabilitiesDefine and drive design with user experience in mind across our digital products and platforms.
Own the digital design vision for all our products and services.
Mobile first, obviously.
Develop guidelines and style guides that help you scale design vision throughout Direct Energy's brand and services.
Strong ability to think visually and guide visual designers as it pertains to visual language decision and rationale.
Lead the team of UX designers and fully support their career and personal development.
Manage and mentor UX designers working on multiple projects.
Develop key performance metrics to improve websites' performance and goals.
Work with cross functional teams to spearhead the incorporation of sound UX principles into the user interfaces of our diverse set of products and services.
Strong conceptualization ability, strong visual communication ability, drawing skills and sketchbook technique.
Exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail.
Leverage customer research and feedback, site metrics and usability findings to develop scenarios, use cases and high-level functional requirements.
Create and maintain detailed user-interface specifications and design patterns, while leveraging an existing online style guide.
Present and review design work with cross-functional project team and business stakeholders; ensuring all recommendations are technically sound and feasible.
Contribute to project scoping and sizing efforts to inform project timelines and ensure on-time delivery; supply task breakdowns and estimated sizes, facilitate prioritization and ongoing planning as changes arise.
Enhance UX design processes and guidelines for our projects; ensuring best practices are followed across the UX design team.
Deliver digital experiences that are well-informed, user-focused, and intuitive; working closely with business stakeholders, peers, customers and/or developers from inception through implementation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively work with local and remote stakeholders in a collaborative and open environment.
Motivate and guide professional development for the design team.
Work with UX researcher to develop and track against team deliverables.
CompetenciesDemonstrated ability to define innovative approaches to complex design problemsSolid understanding of user-centered design principles Highly developed presentation skills and ability to tell data stories.
Ability to translate audience, technology and other key product requirements into effective UI design solutionsA solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, usability and accessibility concerns.
Fluency with industry-standard design tools such as InVision, UXPin, Axure, AdobeXD, Sketch, Balsamiq, Keynote, etc.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
