JOB SUMMARY The Compliance Specialist for our Product and Program Design team provides assistance to GSFSGroup's insurance regulatory compliance and product development activities particularly with its service contract, GAP and voluntary protection products.
The Compliance Specialist will 1) prepare, process, file and maintain company product registrations and filings; 2) process, file and maintain product, insurance, and lender form filings; 3) assist with product development and research efforts; 4) assist with other regulatory filings and compliance activities; 5) support and participate in departmental functions; and 6) help maintain and foster positive relations for the legal department with insurance departments, GSFSGroup associates and other third parties.
Essential Functions Listing of essential function (In no order of importance) Prepare, obtain and maintain product registrations as needed for GSFSGroup, dealers and dealer or partner owned companies.
Review new statutes/regulations as assigned to determine if any change affects current areas of responsibility and assist in the development and implementation of processes/procedures to assure GSFSGroup compliance.
Update applicable operational manuals and procedural documents as needed due to changes.
Ongoing review and development of compliance processes and procedures within area of responsibility specifically looking for ways to improve processes by increasing efficiency and eliminating any redundancies.
As assigned, make regulatory filings with governmental agencies and gain approval (as applicable) of such filings in a timely manner.
Make product files with lenders and gain approval of filings in a timely manner.
Maintain, review and coordinate internal and external compliance reports, requirements, information and charts as assigned.
Interface with:
Government officials regarding product provider registrations, form filings and changes thereto as well as specific fact situations requiring resolution; Agents, dealership personnel, partners and associates regarding all pertinent product provider registrations, including explaining the application of the laws and regulations to them.
Coordinate with business partners and internal associates in connection with compliance activities related to products and dealer programs.
Represent Legal Department on intracompany teams as assigned.
Coordinate with legal department team members as necessary to carry out intracompany team objectives.
Open, maintain, close and safeguard files within area of responsibility.
Provide other duties and support to Legal Department as assigned.
Education / Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with 3 - 4 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education/experience.
Critical Competencies:
Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Excellent planning, organization and coordination skills.
Proficient computer skills, including internet research, Microsoft Office 365 applications, Adobe Acrobat, GSFSGroup software and demonstrated ability to learn and master other relevant software programs and/or computer hardware.
Effectively read, analyze and interpret laws and regulations and apply them to regulatory compliance activities within area of responsibility.
Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to apply and implement GSFS Group business requirements, processes and procedures as well as regulatory compliance requirements Ability to support and handle change.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus.
The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
