Finance Manager

SUMMARY The Finance Manager under the direction of the Sr.
Director Finance and Accounting, and CFO will 1) provide general investment financial and operational services for GSFS Group and 2) ensure that all investment related financial data is supplied to the accounting team accurately and on time within Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company policy and Business Partnership Agreements and 3) analyze financial information and prepare accurate and timely financial reports, schedules and statements and 4) enforce internal controls to protect company assets.
The Finance Manager will also take action to enhance cross-functional coordination and expand internal communications within GSFSGroup as well as develop both themselves and other GSFSGroup associates.
RESPONSIBILITIES Activities including, but not limited to; Responsible for analyzing investment activities.
Manages the daily activities for a given section of the company's investment operations.
Applies company investment policies and procedures, works with advisors to recommend changes to increase efficiency.
Analyzes portfolio allocation, manages cash and securities including both debt and equities with Treasury Department based on approvals from Investment Committee.
Acts as a liaison with Fixed Income and Equity advisors.
Prepares reports on investment transactions and status for submission to management.
Compares actual results to budgeted results and provides variance explanations on a monthly basis.
Coordinates data requirements, prepares analysis and recommendations for various company programs.
Prepares and analyzes pro-formas.
Analyzes monthly and year-end financial data to ensure that it is recorded accurately, in accordance with GAAP.
Assists in reviewing or preparing ancillary audit schedules, audit footnotes, tax schedules and tax forms.
Participates in annual business planning process Participates in annual state regulatory filings.
Researches and resolves accounting transaction questions and other customer issues in an agreed upon timeframe.
Strives to satisfy customers.
Minimizes referrals to management.
Maintains checklists and other logs to ensure completeness.
Coordinates and communicates actions between the GSFSGroup departments and across other Friedkin affiliated companies.
Participates on continuous improvement teams.
Collaborates with co-workers and GSFSGroup leaders to leverage knowledge and experience to improve processes, procedures and the work environment in order to eliminate inefficient and ineffective processes and procedures.
Participates in evaluation, testing, and implementation of Information Technology projects.
Responsibly to receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.
Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.
Other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Understanding of internal control structures and effective alignment with the internal control structure.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Knowledge of F&I products.
Broad knowledge of GAAP and SAP and applicable federal, state laws and regulations pertaining to GSFSGroup of companies and its products.
Strong computer skills (spreadsheets, databases, word processing, etc.
).
Ability to promote, coordinate, and support change.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from four-year College or university; and 8-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures for investments, insurance company investments and financial analysis Technical Expertise -- Applies up-to-date knowledge and skills needed to do the job.
The candidate must be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (e.
g.
, SAS, SQL, and Access).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
