Civil Designer

On behalf of our client, we are seeking self-motivated individual with in depth knowledgeable in civil design.
The team works collaboratively with many different types of clients to accurately plan site developments, storm water management, transportation, and more.
Position Description The Civil Designer/Engineer will provide design and drafting support for various civil site development and land development projects from conceptual phase through construction documents.
Tasks will include developing small and large scale K-12 educational, higher educational, commercial, industrial, public works, and parks/recreation projects.
This position has required travel, which may be at least 20% at the position responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities Develop complete sets of site development projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D including site geometry, utility, erosion and sediment control, grading/drainage plans and details in accordance with client and DIG Engineers design standards.
Analyze surveys, field notes, maps, aerial photographs, and other materials to identify potential project constraints and the best approach in developing and completing projects on time and on budget.
Perform drainage calculations for slopes, sewer design, hydraulic systems, detention ponds, etc.
Independently complete redlines and plan revisions.
Research and review deeds, ordinances, technical reports, municipal, state and federal codes to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with project managers and design staff to provide status updates, discuss challenges, and address plan revisions.
Review the work of drafting personnel to ensure accuracy and conformance to design requirements.
Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs.
Monitors work for compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and standards Proactively work with the appropriate authorities having jurisdiction to obtain plan approval and permits Other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
PE license strongly preferred.
High proficiency with AutoCAD 3D, Revit, and Microsoft office suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Full range of visual depth perception and the ability to distinguish colors.
Valid Driver's License, acceptable driving record, and ability to occasionally travel overnight.
At least two years of relevant CAD 3D design experience strongly preferred.
Experience in site development, land development and/or municipal work is required.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadlines.
