Overview & Responsibilities

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Web Analytics Strategist will be responsible for capturing and measuring data across Service Corporation International's web channels. Key objectives of the role will include:
Implement and configure web analytics platforms for the enterprise, such as Google Analytics 360 Suite and Sitecore Experience Analytics
Establish and sustain best practices for tagging, segmentation and data structure
Create scalable dashboards and reports for business users across the organization
Collaborate with marketing, IT and the field to define and measure KPIs
This candidate should demonstrate business acumen, high data fluency, and strong initiative for improving measurement standards. The candidate will be required to think critically and build scalable systems for a dynamic digital marketing environment. The Web Analytics Strategist should be technically-minded and data-driven, but able to collaborate and communicate effectively with creative and non-technical team members and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
60% Reporting
The primary responsibility of the Web Analytics Strategist will be to analyze data on an ongoing basis and create actionable reports for distribution throughout the enterprise.
Create dashboards and ad hoc reports in Tableau, Google Analytics, Microsoft Excel, and other platforms based on organizational KPIs
Gather digital and business data from multiple sources and combine to create cohesive reports
Provide regular, deep analysis of performance to Digital Marketing Director and Digital Marketing Manager
Collaborate with various departments to integrate data sources from the web with multiple internal reporting platforms
Assist advertising specialists with native reports for various advertising platforms, including AdWords, Bing, DoubleClick, Marin and more
Derive actionable insights from data to drive key business decisions and inform digital strategies; make recommendations to internal stakeholders in marketing
30% Defining, Testing and Web Merchandising
The Web Analytics Strategist will own the web analytics implementation at SCI and will facilitate a working system of measurement and reporting to support marketing objectives.
Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to define KPIs for campaigns and key initiatives
Define and configure A/B and multivariate tests to drive improvement
Define and configure Sitecore web merchandising and personalization strategy to maximize conversion rate
Identify appropriate tags and work with developers to facilitate tagging process for advertising, email and web analytics, either manually or via Google Tag Manager
Establish and practice consistent quality assurance practices pertaining to tagging and measurement
Maintain the integrity and structure of tagging and analytics systems to support the evolution of marketing's KPIs
10% Administration
Serve as internal subject matter expert on web analytics
Train colleagues in marketing and other departments on digital marketing KPIs and dashboards
Manage relationships with account representatives for various vendors and agencies
Assist with billing, record keeping and account payments as needed
Maintain process documentation and centralized document storage
Other duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science or related field
Experience:
Minimum four (4) to seven (7) years' experience in a position requiring in-depth web analytics.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Mastery of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager required; proficiency in Adobe Omniture SiteCatalyst, Sitecore Analytics, Excel VBA and/or Tableau preferred.
Ability to think critically and remain flexible among a diverse and ever-changing business environment in a complex organization
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members and communicate appropriately across multiple organizational levels
Strong time management skills and ability to balance competing priorities and overlapping deadlines
Ability to turn complicated data stories into approachable learnings which can be communicated across various levels of the organization
Ability to run analysis and reports fluently and efficiently in Microsoft Excel on large data sets
Working knowledge of HTML, Javascript and other common languages that power web measurement tools
Fluent in all Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
