Summary:
Corporate position managing maintenance vendors and auditing maintenance spend for North American Locations. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.
Summary of Key
Responsibilities:
Maintain strategic relationship with national and local maintenance vendors for tractor & trailer fleet.
Provide oversight of maintenance invoices.
Manage spend with vendors and negotiate hour/labor/price rates.
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and established internal policies and guidelines.
Notify drivers of assignments and direct their activities to ensure cargo is picked up and delivered according to schedules.
Control equipment trailers and tractors spend on maintenance events.
Monitor and respond to all electronic communications.
Monitor miles/revenue per unit, related to maintenance.
Enter information in Transportation Management System.
Development and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Handle accidents/incidents as they occur.
Complete administrative paperwork relative to DOT and company documentation standards.
Assist the load planner and customers regarding issues to ensure compliance and troubleshoot issues.
Monitor service exceptions with contractors and issue business discussions as needed.
Summary of Experience and Education:
5
years' experience in transportation fleet maintenance preferred.
Any combination of experience or education equivalent to five years technical level experience that supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed below for the classification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Transportation fleet maintenance background.
Maintenance shop / fleet operations knowledge.
Strong ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience in mobile communications systems preferred.
Requires analytical skill, ability to understand financial data and the impact of potential charges.
Candidate must be flexible, self-motivated and willing to actively participate in continuous improvement processes.
Position requires high level of organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively, achieving targeted goals.
Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Thorough knowledge of Federal and State regulatory laws on Transportation.
Must be able to work with minimal direction.
