Staff Accountant

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our General Accounting team. This individual will participate as an integral part of the accounting team during the month end close process, as well as contribute to financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and support of budget and forecast activities.
Key Accountabilities:
Perform general ledger (GL) accounting and financial reporting duties, including maintaining general ledger accounts
Participate in monthly financial close process including account analysis, account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, and balancing intercompany accounts
Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts
Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of balance sheet and reduce the risk of financial misstatement or financial exposure
Provide balance sheet account analysis as requested
Prepare journal entries along with required back-up
Process complex intercompany transactions and reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate posting
Prepare and analyze financial information, and report and explain variances
Reconcile various balance sheet accounts, including intercompany accounts and bank accounts
Assist with the documentation, review, and design of work flows and ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX)
Analyze the basis and outcome of accruals monthly and quarterly
Provide information and schedules to various departments and international offices
Provide annual audit support
Contribute to the measurement of Company key performance indicators
Assist with other general ledger activities

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
