Software Developer II
Job Function / Purpose
Participate in all phases of software development, from design to distribution, and collaborate with end-users to fulfill their software requirements
Essential Duties
Design and develop new software applications and maintain existing software applications
Follow established IT Department coding and source control standards
Communicate with Lead Software Developer and end-users to establish milestones and delivery schedules for software development projects
Debug and test software applications
Collaborate with other IT Department members, Engineering Department and software end-users to improve the quality of software applications
Evaluate third-party components used in software application development
Write end-user Help Files for software applications
Travel to Gyrodata, Inc. locations and client locations as directed by Lead Software Developer
Use skills and experience to improve and innovate IT Department projects
HSE Function
Comply with applicable safety standards and maintain a safe working environment
QA Function
Comply with applicable quality assurance standards
Required Qualifications
Strong written and oral English communication skills
3-5 years software development experience
Knowledge of development using Microsoft Windows platform
Knowledge of Visual Studio development environment
Knowledge of C# programming language
Knowledge of Entity Framework
Knowledge of .NET development platform
Knowledge of SQL
Ability to use a computer for accessing and sending e-mail, opening and revising documents, accessing internet and web-based Gyrodata, Inc. systems, including SharePoint, Agresso and ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from an accredited four year college or university
Experience with Matlab a plus
Knowledge of WinForms, WPF, & WCF
Knowledge of MVVM & IOC
Working Conditions
The job is performed in an office environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards. The job requires some physical exertion, including sitting, standing, occasional light lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. The job requires operation of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, copiers, etc. The job requires following written and oral instructions, attention to detail, ability to multitask, ability to work with others and ability to meet deadlines. The job requires following established policies and procedures, meeting quality and safety standards and regular attendance. The job requires making decisions based on experience and knowledge without supervision and requires responsibility for results.
