Field Engineer
Overview

Austin Commercial is currently seeking an experienced Field Engineer for projects in the Houston, TX area. The purpose of this job is to provide overall supervision for field engineering survey activities associated with the construction of large, commercial building projects. Included is a full range of professional surveying services which are carried out throughout all phases of the work. The value of the projects could reach upwards of $200M.
Responsibilities
Supervision of field engineering survey crews (typically 3-8 crew members including rodman, chainman, instrument men, etc.)
Project layout - location, elevation, control Lines, horizontal and vertical controls, etc.
Coordination with subcontractors & craft foremen
Training & development of subordinates
Verification of dimensional integrity - work in progress
Care, maintenance & security of equipment
Resolution of technical field problems
Monitoring of impact on adjacent properties
As-built documentation
Qualifications
Field Engineers must have a minimum of 5 years of field survey experience on large, commercial construction projects ranging from $20M to $200M in size.
Experience in one or more of the following types of construction:
airports, healthcare facilities, university facilities, research labs and sports facilities, corporate build-to-suite, or public facilities.
