Our greatest asset has been and will continue to be our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Financial Analyst within our Accounting & Finance Department based in Houston, TX.
Essential Functions:
Calculate monthly capital and operating expense accruals for Asset Teams
Calculate monthly production and revenue accruals (oil, gas and NGL) for Asset Teams
Report monthly sales volumes for Asset Teams
Assure compliance with SOX 404 controls and business unit compliance with company policies and procedures
Ensure timely and accurate processing of allocations, production pricing, and sales data for purposes of financial reporting and royalty owner payments
Problem solving, analytical thinking and communicating with other departments as necessary to accomplish accounting objectives
Analyze actual financial results and explain variances from outlook and budget and prepare monthly reports and outlook estimates
Coordinate with Team Leads, Financial Analysts and others on updating/revising outlooks
Responsible for monthly closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, variance analysis, cost driver reports, reconciliations, and other required reporting
Assist in managing capital programs by coordinating preparation of internal and supplemental AFEs, cost tracking, variance analysis, accruals and facilitate the project closing process
Assist in the annual planning cycle including Business Plan, Annual Targets, and Performance Management Reports
Provide accounting/finance technical support to business unit as needed
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 21 hours of accounting
A minimum of 2 years of related professional work experience
Self-motivated and hardworking individual
Strong analytical and communication skills; comfortable dealing with peers and management
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with peers
Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and meet short deadlines
Willing to work after hours as needed in order to meet deadlines
Seeks additional responsibilities as learning progression occurs
Continuing development in functional/technical skills
Adapts well to changes in responsibilities and workloads
Good problem solving and time management skills
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Desired Qualifications
Oil and Gas accounting experience
Oracle and Hyperion Reporting knowledge a plus
Financial modeling/valuation experience a plus
CPA/MBA/Public Accounting experience a plus

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
