Controller/Chief Accounting Officer

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will oversee the accounting and reporting functions and ensure compliance with internal controls. Key priorities include developing and upgrading the talent within accounting, improving Oracle and other financial systems/reporting, finding efficiencies in accounting processes and ensuring accuracy of financial information.

Responsibilities:
Manage most accounting functions including General Ledger and subledgers (A/R, A/P, Inventory, Fixed Assets).
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and report packages
Research technical accounting issues for compliance
Support month-end, quarterly and year-end close process
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Actively participate in major projects that are aligned with company objectives.
Hire, manage, evaluate and motivate employees; establish effective retention plans; provides coaching, training and tools for successful accomplishment of objectives.
Complies, without exception, with all Safety regulations and guidelines
Additional controller duties as necessary
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting required.
CPA certification required.
Minimum of 15 years experience in a supervisory, manager, and leadership role.
Well-developed interpersonal skills. Extensive experience required in working with teams.
Very proficient with Oracle R12 or other ERP systems with ability to review and improve processes.
Proficient in Google Suite Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Docs and Microsoft Excel
Ability to easily learn and understand complex technical accounting and financial concepts.
Exceptional analytical, problem solving, decision making, and customer orientation skills.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Well developed verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Masters degree in Business or Accounting preferred.
