Investment Associate

Role Overview
The Investment Associate (IA) will combine development and acquisition expertise to manage multifamily development and acquisition projects. This position will work with Director of Investments. The IA is responsible for the quantitative analysis, modeling, and reporting for the DI. Furthermore, the IA will help create reports for distribution to investors and interface with a wide variety of individuals during the life of each project.
Responsibilities
The Role You'll Play
Prepare sophisticated financial models and underwrite for development, acquisition and disposition of various real estate investments
Perform market research analyzing supply/demand, rent/sales comparables, and replacement cost
Create financial projection models using Excel software
Assist in preparation of materials for debt and equity sources
Prepare internal valuations of real estate assets
Prepare investment briefs and committee materials
Prepare reports including property and portfolio results, and maintenance of portfolio models
Review operating and capital budgets prepared by the operating group
Monitor performance of investments relative to market conditions and specific business plans
Help prepare investor reports and respond to investor requests for information
Execute the business plan for the investment
Other related duties as assigned

Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Able to approach problems both logically and creatively
Excellent organizational and strategic planning skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills will be needed to
Negotiate contracts and work with different roles and personalities
Ability to create financial models is essential
Ability to perform multiple assignments without immediate supervision is necessary
Position requires travel, extremely long hours working nights and weekends when closing a transaction
Required Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or other quantitative subject areas is required
Master's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or other quantitative subject areas is preferred

years of relevant experience is required
