Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the General Sales Manager, the Sr. Sales Representative is responsible for promoting, coordinating, and participating in sales and/or service activities among selected types of customers or prospects in assigned business unit, plant or territory.
Requirements
Responsible for sales and overall customer service for civil projects within assigned territory.
Identifies and researches construction projects within assigned markets.
Promotes and sells Company products and materials to firms responsible for specifying business unit plant, or territory products.
Tracks lost/sold projects in order to stay current on competitive market conditions.
Monitors strategic adjustments needed for future projects.
Reads submittals to ensure that customers are receiving proper mixes for projects.
Regularly visit jobsites to ensure quality and customer satisfaction. Handles QC/QA and dispatch issues that arise and resolves any problems or issues that arise.
Builds and maintains favorable customer relationships within the construction sector to increase future business.
Contacts existing or potential customers and maintains adequate sales call records.
Develops backlogs of materials sold and coordinate shipping schedules.
Responsive to customer problems and complaints.
Responsible for the development and success of the cement sales plans.
Communicates information as needed with internal groups within the Company.
Responsible for achieving the maximum selling price and profitability for the Company and understands the production needs of Company facility requirements.
Responsible for timely collection of monies owed. Provides lien data to the Company's Credit Department when appropriate.
Works with customers, labs, and Company operations to help design specially blended aggregates or other Company products in order to meet customer needs on specific projects.
Seeks and gathers information to identify opportunities for the Company to expand or improve their position in the marketplace.
Joins and participates in industry-related associations and represents the Company at such activities.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
Four year college degree required.
In lieu of a degree, five (5) years equivalent experience in construction industry, cement experience is a plus!
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting and selling products or services.
Knowledge of material standards within construction industry.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing as appropriate for needs of the audience.
Must be a self starter, needing little supervision.
The ability to join and participate in industry-related associations and present the Company in such activities.
Must be willing and able to travel overnight.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical requirements include being able to lift and carry up to 5 pounds from ground to waist, have visual acuity, speech, hearing, hand and eye coordination, manual dexterity, repetitive motion. The ability to stand, sit (must be able to sit for extended periods of time up to 8 hours), walk, climb stairs, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, push, pull, reach, twist, balance, use repetitive motion, drive, and squat to perform essential function of job requirements.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Will work in varied environments including normal office setting and outdoors (in all weather conditions heat, cold, wet, humid, dry and/or dusty conditions).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
