Reservoir Engineer, Business Development

Position Summary
This individual is needed to review and evaluate new business opportunities, incorporating reservoir, operations and geology into economics and development plans of assets. The successful candidate will prepare technical evaluations and presentations for senior management and /or potential buyers. Critical to successful execution will be the identification of downside risks and upside opportunities. This position is located in downtown Houston, TX. Level and salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Functions
Analyze operational and financial data and incorporate this into integrated economic models (ARIES/Enersight platform)
Build production profiles for economic modeling based on EUR distributions of horizontal and vertical wells (Rose method), tie to OOIP and recovery factor assumptions, history match, well spacing analyses, rig options and capital and LOE requirements
Develop LOE premise for acquisitions and assess LOS
Identify key reservoir engineering issues associated with opportunities under evaluation and provide guidance to the team and senior management
Proficient conventional and un-conventional production decline analysis
Integrate geological, reservoir, land and production data into economic model
Collaborate to assist with the identification of acquisition opportunities and the associated technical, commercial, and strategic merits and risks
Assist in the development of geologic model for OOIP estimation
Estimate reserves (familiar reserves definitions and requirements)
Coach, motivate and develop junior staff in order to improve their skills to fulfill their job requirements
Conduct technical training to explain reservoir engineering concepts and share technical knowledge with the team
Involvement in data room evaluations

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
6 year's relevant reservoir engineering or asset management experience
Proven track record of exceptional collaboration and project management skills
Exposure to new venture identification, evaluation, and acquisitions or divestments
Strong understanding of production, reservoir engineering and development concepts, especially in unconventional resources
Highly proficient in Excel and Aries, experience in discounted cash flow economic modeling and industry fiscal terms
Knowledge of related disciplines, e.g. geophysics, petrophysics, facilities, drilling, completions production operations, commercial and business issues
Professional and skilled communicator
Exposure to multiple US basins (Lower 48)
Willingness and ability to travel

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering
10
year's relevant reservoir engineering or asset management experience
Experience in Williston Basin and other oil-weighted Lower 48 basins
Significant experience in unconventional resource development
Proficient user of Spotfire
Exposure to Enersight and Kingdom
Exposure to unconventional multi variate analysis to identify key performance drivers
