Summer Intern IT Developer

JOB SUMMARY


Gulf States Toyota is looking for an Intern Developer to join our Development team!


The Intern Developer is part of a development team building and supporting enterprise grade software systems for the automotive industry. The Intern Developer will be involved all phases of the Application Lifecycle, from design to delivery. Will work in an agile environment and should have a self-driven attitude and willingness to learn.


Essential Functions



  • Listing of essential function (In order of importance)



  1. Accountable for implementing small well defined programming tasks. Debugs own code with limited support

  2. Receives and understands information, requirements and specifications to design and develop solutions for enterprise applications

  3. Participates in discussions

  4. Receives regular supervision on a daily basis

  5. Receives and understands technical designs

  6. Adheres to standards and processes

  7. Shares discoveries and best practices. Learns from others within the team

  8. Other duties as assigned



  1. Assist in the collection and documentation of user requirements and processes

    1. Application and Release Support

    2. Research new technologies, tools and platforms to identify opportunities



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities


QUALIFICATIONS


Education and Experience requirements:


In the process of obtaining an Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology field.


Technical Experience



  • Basic knowledge of object oriented principles

  • Basic knowledge of JavaScript Frameworks

  • Basic knowledge of building web-based applications

  • Basic knowledge of Database programming

  • Basic knowledge of Agile and Scrum

  • Basic knowledge of best practices and standards for software development


Soft Skills



  • Demonstrates resilience when faced with difficult circumstances and setbacks

  • Builds strong customer relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions

  • A strong attention to detail combined with the ability to prioritize tasks

Physical Requirements:

Work Environment:

While the job is generally performed in an office environment, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, areas in which moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals are present, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the office environment is typically quiet, but the associate may be occasionally exposed to loud noise levels. Minimal travel is required for this position (up to 20% of the time and on a domestic basis).


Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
