Role


Wood Mackenzie has an exciting opportunity for a Solutions Architect to join a fast paced, dynamic global business to help drive change and innovation.


The role will be based in a central Wood Mackenzie office but some business travel may be expected from time to time.

Interested candidates will:



  • Focus on solution design and work as a central point within delivery teams

  • Align at a product and project level and takes ownership of the end to end solution design

  • Work across multiple projects/products using the appropriate Agile or Waterfall approach

  • Engage with, and facilitate smooth passage through, Wood Mackenzie and Verisk technology governance processes

  • Provide hands-on support and guidance to Development Leads, Technical Architects and developers to ensure solution development is aligned to the architecture definition

  • Be a key contributor towards technology roadmaps and strategic technology objectives


Main Responsibilities



  • Work with Enterprise Architects, Product Owners and business leaders to understand the drivers and objectives of key initiatives

  • Define solutions that are fit for purpose in terms of strategic alignment, quality, cost and time

  • Provide input and interface into the overarching technical design authority

  • Support and mentor the development teams in delivering joined up end to end solutions providing guidance and best practice where necessary

  • Ensure all of the components of a solution are considered and aligned including; functional and non-functional design, integration, infrastructure, security and service transition

  • Key contributor to the target architecture and technology roadmaps

  • Working with vendors to understand technology roadmaps and the best use of technology


Role KPI's will include



  • Solution designs aligned to target architecture and approved by Technical Design Authority

  • Robust end to end solutions that align all technology components in the process

  • Recommendations and input to the evolution of the target architecture

  • Stakeholder satisfaction


Knowledge, Skills and Experience


To be considered for the role of Solution Architect, candidates must be able to clearly demonstrate:



  • Considerable experience gained across a wide range of IT related disciplines and technologies

  • Extensive experience with defining, delivering and managing end to end solutions

  • Understanding of technical aspects of IT and ability to explain complex solutions simply to non IT specialists

  • Ability to work within an international multicultural and diverse team


Knowledge and experience in the following technical areas would be beneficial:



  • Agile & SCRUM

  • ITIL

  • TOGAF

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
