The Business Consultant works in partnership with clients, providing strategic guidance in natural gas measurement and analysis. Requires a moderate level of technical knowledge used to provide critical and analytical advice for special problem resolution.
A position at this level provides on- or off-site business and technical support to the user community and guidance in the acquisition, use, development, and access of company software products and/or associated hardware to meet the needs and goals of the customer.
Responsibilities
The Business Consultant will perform some or all of these duties on a routine basis:
Installation of database software and/or database creation
Assist with data conversions and migrations from legacy systems
Perform software installations and upgrades
Ability to gather business requirements, configuration designs, test plans and any other deliverables required by the project as determined by the Project Manager/Lead Business Consultant
Familiar with the system design lifecycle and the entire project lifecycle from requirements to support
Knowledge of process documentation, tools and techniques
Assist with issues regarding the processing and help resolve discrepancies with natural gas measurement data
Assist with questions or issues maintaining the company family of products
Provide training on the company family of products
Participate in planning and executing projects and other service requests
Document, track, and report work on services delivered
Work on a regular basis with members of other groups, including Support and Development teams
Helps ensure conformity with established industry standards
Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers
The Business Consultant will also:
Update and maintain their personal skill set by investigating relevant software tools, components and techniques, participating in professional organizations and reading professional publications.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline required (e.g. Business, MIS, CIS, Engineering, Physical Sciences or related field)
1-2 years of experience in a related field. Professional services and/or Oil & Gas industry experience strongly preferred
1-2 years of experience participating in the development or implementation of software systems
Excellent client-facing skills
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Strong written, verbal and communication skills
Working Conditions
Business casual office environment. Work sometimes requires evening and/or weekend work. Normal travel will be weekdays up to 50% of the time to work onsite at client locations throughout North America. Foreign travel may also be required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
