Looking for an experienced professional, motivated, and extremely organized Pharmacist in Charge to manage and grow an already busy retail/compound pharmacy. Must have proven experience in modern pharmacy management, very familiar with payment/reimbursement programs, insurance and board guidelines for compounds. Must have above average working knowledge of compound formulas (pain creams, patches, eczema, hormone, scar, etc.), ability to account profitability and continually seek new compound products and formulas to market. PIC will ensure and enforce compliance with all laws and board regulations, will manage operations and all pharmacy staff including evaluating the work of others, analyzing data and processes to draw conclusions and make recommendations for developing and implementing operational procedures. Must take initiative to continually seek ways to improve efficiency, volume, and profitability.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Compounds and dispenses medications as prescribed by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
Manages the daily operations of the pharmacy, including direct supervision of the pharmacy staff
Ensure proper storage and safe keeping of pharmaceuticals
Monitors the inventory, ordering, distribution and use of pharmaceuticals
Provides patient consultation and advise on drug utilization and interactions
Observance of Universal Precautions
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree
Currently licensed as a pharmacist in the state of Texas
Two years compounding experience
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
Walking, sitting, standing, reaching, and bending. Inside conditions are climate controlled.
