You have a Masters degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration and ten (10) or more years managerial experience that includes at least seven (7) years of experience as a Department Administrator in an academic setting. You have demonstrated experience in assuming responsibility, administratively and financially, for the successful operation of a department. Your previous experience includes financial and budget management, business development, personnel management, multi-site facilities oversight, grants and extramural funding management, and strategic planning in an academic medical center. If the above describes you, we would very much like to get to know you. We seek candidates for the role of Academic Department Administrator - Surgery. In this role you will assume administrative and financial responsibility for the successful operation of a surgery department that has grown to include 45 full time surgeons and PhD faculty, a general surgery residency, 2 fellowship programs, a state of the art education and research center, and translational research programs with extramural funding from the NIH, NSF, CMS and other agencies. The department supports clinical, educational, and research missions with an annual operating budget of approximately $40M and 200 employees. Reporting to the Department Chair, the Academic Department Administrator is the senior leader responsible for the management and operation of the surgery department. Specific areas of responsibility include financial and budget management, business development, personnel management, multi-site facilities oversight, grants and extramural funding management, and strategic planning.
Candidates must have ten (10) years of management experience with at least seven (7) years experience as a Department Administrator in an academic medical center. An MBA or MHA is required. The successful candidate must be an effective leader with demonstrated effectiveness as a collaborator, problem solver, decision maker and communicator in a sophisticated health care organization. Candidates should have previous experience with a large academic medical center whose department has a similar annual operating budget (i.e., approximately $40 million and 200 employees).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
