Job Title: Business Analyst/Project Manager
Location: Houston, TX
Salary: $42-45/hour
Houston based company has an immediate need for a Business Analyst/Project Manager for a one year contract that could potentially be extended.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate for this position must have a proven track record of gathering and analysing business and system requirements to meet the business goals and represent IT to the business organizations. The successful candidate in this role will be responsible for analysing various business functions, systems, processes and data, and making viable recommendations to the client management. This individual will apply proven analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT investments, turning functional business requirements into effective design solutions. Expertise in LTI/Common cartridge, QTI, and other IMS Global standards is preferred.
Tasks and
Responsibilities:
Perform data analysis of various types of source systems.
Collaborate with project stakeholders, sponsors and management to determine the project scope
Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements, and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues
Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications
Guide business partners in developing effective business processes and map to functional system design
Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including system integration and customer acceptance, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support
Analyze and determine root-cause for reported system issues
Utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirements and functional specifications
Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential problem areas in various IT systems
Provide orientation to end users for all modified and new systems
Required Skills and Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in business system analysis is required
A college Degree is required
Knowledge of databases and SQL is required
Experience in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing is preferred
Experience with basic project management tasks such as creating work breakdown structure and project schedule, managing scope, tracking issues and ensuring that the deliverables conform to the established quality standards.
Expertise in LTI/Common cartridge, QTI, and other IMS Global standards is preferred.
IMS Global certification is preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
