Summary:
Provides technical assistance in the preparation of teaching materials to the instructor and students in support of the instructional classes in the laboratory.
Seasonal Hires are a temporary status and therefore may not be employed for a period of more than four and months.
These individuals may be hired either as full-time or part-time and must be a minimum age of 16 years Position Key Accountabilities:
1.
Dispenses biohazardous materials by autoclaving and bagging for disposal.
2.
Washes and sterilizes glassware, pipets, instruments and tips.
Soaks glassware and instruments in dichromate acid to remove stubborn stains 3.
Collects lab coats daily for laundry, completes laundry slips with the number of submitted coats, and returns the lab coats to their proper labs.
4.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
None.
Minimum Education:
None Individuals must be a minimum age of 16 years.
High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Minimum
Experience:
None; one year of experience with laboratory and/or scientific procedures, preferred Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently, and/or up to 5 pounds constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code 51.
215 Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
