Accolade is currently recruiting for a Full Time Actuarial Director for our Clinical Intelligence Analytic team.
Applicants will be required to work 8am to 5pm CST.
As a Actuarial Director, you will work closely with Actuarial, Finance, and the clinical operational team to support dashboard building, clinical analytics, and the evaluation of the financial and other values of Accolade s solutions and services.
This individual will collaborate with other technology, engineering, Actuarial and analytic professionals to extract data figures from multiple data warehouses, create reports based on their findings, communicate key findings and impacts to senior leaderships, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to determine business initiatives success.
An ideal candidate should have extensive experience working for health plans within Actuarial pricing and claims data analytic spaces.
Someone with strong passion working with complex healthcare data, have an eye for process improvements and enjoy leading people with influence, projects and presenting their work to senior leadership.
In this role you will:
Be responsible for clinical program impact & cost saving evaluations, population health metric design and member traits evaluation, medical claims and pharmacy claims utilization evaluation, clinical operation performance measurement, clinical intervention program evaluation from a member experience and patient outcome perspective, as well as ROI studies, reporting and dashboard building using excel, Sisense and other cloud-based tools.
Society of Actuaries actuarial designation of ASAHave 10 years
experience working in the health care space in the US.
Strong Actuarial skills to model health plan network, membership, plan benefit designs, medical and pharmacy claims trends, unit cost understanding of various healthcare service types, and prior authorization analytics.
Design and run complex data programs to perform mathematical analyses and actuarial modeling.
Deep understanding of complex healthcare claims and membership database structures and ability to work with large datasets with various joints plus data transformation methodologies.
Strong written and oral communications skills.
Communication and explain findings and trends to technical and non-technical audiences.
Establish new KPIs to measure effectiveness of business process, business practice and decisions.
Create report and presentation for projects, summarize recommendations and findings.
Work collaboratively with members of our clinical team, data team, engineering team, client management team and sales team.
Identify and implement informatics strategies to support health outcomes, patient outreach and organizational performance.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, VBA, SQL, R, Python, and SAS (or other program languages that is similar).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
To be successful in this role you will need:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in data analytics.
Have good understanding of prior authorization, medical claims and pharmacy claims data, from how provider bills these claims to how they get adjudicated by the payers.
Population health knowledge and prior work experience is preferred, not requiredHealth insurance work experience is required.
Strong oral and written communication skillsAbility to manage and complete multiple projects within established deadlines, with minimal supervision.
Attention to detail, enjoys working with large amount of data closely and debug formula and code errors.
Thinking outside the box, enjoy taking on new challenges and work through assignments with high-level guidance from leadership.
Team player and self-motivator.

Bachelors degree in mathematics, actuarial science, data engineering, data science or computer science preferred.
