About the position:
In addition to its core strengths in Personal Systems, Printing, and Collaboration, HP is advancing its capabilities as the leader in IT circularity.
Building on a strong heritage in first life devices for PC, Print, and Collaboration and expanding into areas including HP Certified Renewed (aka second life/refurbished devices) HP is helping its customers reduce their carbon footprint, improve employee IT experience, and reduce total cost of ownership for their workforce and workspace.
Our portfolio and partnerships in hardware, software, and services enable us to provide a comprehensive portfolio of compelling solutions to our enterprise, mid-market, and the SMB segment.
An important enabler of this growth initiative is expanding our Renew Solutions capabilities to ensure HP can deliver multi-lifecycle offerings in support of high-value solutions to our customers.
To help us build out this important capability, we are seeking an experienced executive to lead the transformation and growth of our Renew Solutions product management team.
The VP of Renew Solutions is a global role responsible for overseeing the portfolio of multi-lifecycle devices, our HP Certified Partner Program, and ITAD/Trade-in practices to deliver high-quality experiences to our customers.
This leader will drive the strategy, innovation, and execution of our Renew Solutions capabilities while also focusing on transforming a global organization of talented, motivated people supporting the growth objectives of our Personal Systems, Printing, and Hybrid Solutions business units.
This leader will be responsible for the definition, delivery, and overall P&L of horizontal Renew Solutions capabilities supporting multiple customer solution areas relating to the Personal Systems, Print, Hybrid Systems, ITAD/Trade-in, and the HP Certified Partner Program.
These solutions include hardware, software, services, and supplies from both HP and third parties.
These solutions can be sold and/or deployed by our world-class commercial, channel, and partner service network.
Experience in the second life/services industry is required.
The ideal candidate has experience in a growth-oriented enterprise organization transforming and growing its global refurbishment and circularity business unit.
The candidate should have direct experience in moving from siloed, technology-centric capabilities to consistent, horizontal capabilities.
This leader should be focused not only on operational excellence, but increasing customer satisfaction and demonstrating how HP can deliver recurring value.
The successful leader should be analytical, results-oriented, self-driven, willing to work with ambiguity, and have a can-do attitude.
The candidate must have a proven track record of both running second-life operations and transforming those operations into a new business globally.
The candidate should also be excellent at nurturing cross-organization relationships to accomplish goals.
Executive presentation skills are a significant part of the role.
A passionate and energized change management individual is required to help assess, recommend, evangelize, and implement best industry standards.
Experience in the end user computing, print, collaboration, and refurbishment/second-life industry including is a plus.
Key
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
As the leader of the Renew Solutions Product Management organization, they will be responsible for setting the overall strategic direction for the organization and ensuring that it is aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
They must also provide strong leadership and management to the team of professionals working under them.
Financial Management:
Drive revenue growth, profitability, and cost-effectiveness of the Renew Solutions business through effective budgeting, resource allocation, and financial analysis.
The VP of Renew Solutions owns end-to-end profitability of the portfolio and sets pricings and country enablement strategies.
Customer Relationship Management:
The VP of Renew Solutions is responsible for managing customer and partner relationships and ensuring that the product and services provided meet their needs and expectations.
This may involve working closely with sales and business development teams to identify new opportunities and upsell existing services.
Project Management:
The VP of Renew Solutions is responsible for managing ongoing solution delivery for our customers.
This includes working with a significant cross functional HP team to drive Tax, Trade, CFR, logistics, and Digital transformation organizations to implement within reduced timeframes as we launch a new business inside of HP.
Resource Management:
The VP of Renew Solutions is responsible for managing the business's resources, including people, technology, and processes.
They must ensure that the team has the necessary skills and tools to deliver high-quality services to customers.
Performance Management:
The VP of Renew Solutions is responsible for setting performance goals for the team and monitoring progress against those goals.
They must provide regular feedback and coaching to team members and ensure that they have the necessary training and development opportunities.
Risk Management:
The VP of Renew Solutions is responsible for identifying and mitigating risks associated with service delivery and change management.
This may involve working with legal and compliance teams to ensure that services comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Continuous Improvement:
The VP of Renew Solutions is responsible for identifying areas for improvement in the business's processes, systems, and services.
They must work closely with other functions to implement improvements and drive overall business performance.
Global identification and understanding of government mandates that will positively impact the demand for Renew Solutions devices.
Experience:
Bachelor's degree or demonstrable equivalent in information systems/technology, computer science, engineering, or business degree.
Masters' degree or demonstrable equivalent preferred.
Typically, 10
years of senior management experience, including leading global teams.
5+ years of leadership experience managing a global team of 20 or more people.
A deep understanding of the IT managed services industry, including trends, challenges, and opportunities.
This leader should also have knowledge of the various functions and roles within the managed services industry, as well as an understanding of the different types of clients and their needs.
Portfolio planning experience including tools and systems enablement.
Experience in delivering high-quality services to clients.
This includes project management, resource management, and client relationship management.
Experience leading a large organization to achieve today's goals while simultaneously transforming it for the future.
A strong understanding of business principles, including finance, marketing, and strategy.
They should be able to align the services provided with the overall business objectives and ensure that the department is operating efficiently and profitably.
Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team, manage resources effectively, and provide clear direction and guidance.
Experience in sales and business development, including identifying new opportunities and upselling existing services.
They should also have strong networking skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and partners.
Experience with Product, Services, and Software business models.
Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to implement best practices and make effective process improvements.
Exceptionally strong executive presence, excellent communication skills, and ability to be concise in sharing information with executive audiences.
Ideally has gained experience working and living in multiple geographies, interacting with leaders from different cultures and industries.
Experience interacting with executive level partners both internally and externally, including the C-suite executives.
