Process Engineer

We are working with an LNG client based in Downtown Houston, TX who need a Senior Process Engineer to support the long-term operations of their LNG project in South Texas. The position plays a key role in monitoring the activities of the EPC contractor in the execution of multiple projects ensuring that a complete and safe process scope is generated, that the process design deliverables are suitable, and that the commissioning and startup plans are completed and executed safely and efficiently.INDUSTRY:

Responsibilities:
Key member of the process engineering team which leads the interface across all engineering disciplines to ensure the design intent of the process and supporting utilities are met. QA/QC review of all applicable calculations by EPC contractor, and provide comments and guidance as appropriate. Validate the content of drawings and specifications from EPC contractors to ensure that they meet the Scope of Work and Basis of Design Write new Owner process equipment and piping specifications, and develop new details, as required for the project. Analyze process systems and develop methods for de-bottlenecking. Prepare documents (P&IDs, PFDs) for Hazards Analysis and lead HAZOPs and other safety reviews. Generate control philosophies and sequence of operations for processes. Review Designer's quality on RFI answers and submittal review Write studies and reports for process systems on projects. Perform economic evaluations for processes. Perform front-end loading of process systems. Review and monitor process design and engineering of LNG liquefaction plant Coordinate process technology licensor activities Provide timely review of Contractor process engineering deliverables Supports risk management activities such as LOPA and HAZOP Provide support to operations readiness, commissioning, and start-up activitieso Resolve process engineering issues with EPC contractors, consultants, operations, maintenance and others including responses to FERC REQUIREMENTSMinimum experience requirements:
Technical professional with wide exposure to diverse technical environments Experience in leading and motivating technical staff with proven ability to guide, mentor, and inspire others Demonstrated experience with the Air Products & Chemicals, Inc. (APCI) Propane Pre-cooled Mixed Refrigerant Process (C3MR) Substantial experience with acid gas removal systems, molecular sieve dehydration, mercury removal beds, hydrocarbon fractionation, and refrigerant systems. Significant experience with LNG facility storage and loading systems. Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills Proven ability to solve longer-term abstract and/or complex problems, with the ability to provide oversight and guidance to team members Substantial background in developing steady state (equilibrium) process simulations and associated heat and material balances Substantial experience with process equipment selection, sizing, and internal design Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and Management of Change (MOC) processes Experience with Hazard Identification studies (HAZIDs), Process Hazards Analyses (PHAs), and Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOPs) Knowledge and experience with LNG facility applicable industry standards, regulatory codes, and recommended practices Proven experience with managing interfaces and working closely with Project and Operations teams during FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning, startup, and post-startup operations Demonstrated experience with identifying and managing critical success factors and risks Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental guidelines and experience leading by example and working within intercompany HSSE standards Proven record in the application of intercompany and external audits and functional assurance processes Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
Min 5 yrs. experience with LNG liquefaction design and engineering activities 15 years of experience in the Gas / LNG industry in project development and execution Experience with warm end treatment facilities and technologies Familiar with APCI Liquefaction technology Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Has a thorough understanding of the APCI liquefaction process. Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards. Experience with process simulation required with demonstrated real-world model validation and application Deep understanding and knowledge of process chemistry and engineering Broad-based knowledge and experience in chemical process and unit operations Mentoring experience on technical topics Understanding of chemical process control and safety system design, including Safety Case Strong computational and data analysis skills Strong IT skills with process modeling and process simulation software Strong problem-solving skills Rapid problem solving together with the ability to multitask Knowledge of applicable process specifications and requirements Required education & certifications:
B.S. or higher in Chemical EngineeringPreferred education & certifications:
