Manager/Director of Information Technology

A privately owned company (Galleria area) with multiple business lines in light manufacturing and distribution is seeking an IT Director to begin building an internal IT department.
Must be local to Houston and eligible to work without Sponsorship.
Manufacturing experience highly preferred Currently, IT is 100% outsourced and supports 1000 employees at multiple locations across 4 states.
The successful candidate will have experience working with senior management on long-term plans, budgets, and integrating acquisitions.
Assessing the current environment and MSP to develop a roadmap for what functions are best insourced and what should remain outsourced.
Managing the MSP and managing VAR support for multiple accounting systems/ERPs Defining a future IT organization and hiring IT employees based on the approved roadmap and future IT budget.
The transition from outsourced to insourced is intended to occur incrementally and candidates should have hands-on experience with Microsoft desktop and server OS Network, Backup and DR management VMware and VDI support and deployment.
Application support knowledge (Syspro and Sage 100 strongly preferred) to provide direct support or technical remediation activities when required in the interim.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
