Benefits Specialist Direct Hire Remote opportunity for LOCAL candidates, occasional requirements to come into officeSalary Range:
$70K - $90K annuallyJob Duties:
Administers employee retirement programs including 401(k), pension and deferred compensation plans and through effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors and consultants.
Performs weekly retirement plan funding accurately.
Audits employee set-up in payroll system for correct retirement plan contribution level and reviews payroll previews for contribution and match accuracy.
Manage carrier files, including monitoring file transfers and reviewing and correcting data errors.
Integrates new employee groups (union and non-unio) into existing retirement programs, ensuring compliance and effecting necessary plan amendments as required.
Leads retirement plan audits by preparing, collecting, and organizing data for actuarial assessments in preparation for timely annual filing requirements.
Independently Conduct complex nondiscrimination testing for plans, resolve issues related to complex controlled groups with multiple qualified plans.
Assist in the identification of compliance issues, calculate corrections and draft submissions for the IRS and DOL correction programs.
Provides customer service support to internal and external customers and works closely with vendors and consultants to ensure resolution of issues as needed.
Collaborates with vendors and consultants on data feed issues to ensure data integrity and for process improvement/automation.
Resolution may involve complex calculations to remedy gains/losses to an employee's account.
Process invoices related to retirement plans, vendors, and consultants.
Experience with Health & Welfare plans and ACA Administration Reporting is highly desirable.
Supports Senior Benefits Manager in ensuring the retirement plan benefit strategy aligns to company goals and objectives.
Knowledge/Experience Required Demonstrates broad knowledge of the variety and structure of retirement plans, including qualified and nonqualified plans.
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Finance, or related field or a comparable combination of education and benefits experience.
Thorough understanding of retirement principles and practices, including compliance regulations.
Knowledge of current practices of retirement savings plans administration including strong capacity in understanding and managing plan provisions, understanding implications of plan changes.
Strong capacity to work autonomously in an evolving and fast-paced environment.
Effective communicator, able to articulate ideas clearly and concisely in a variety of settings, adjusting the message to match the audience.
