Description Head of Operations, Network Control Business Unit:
Network Control Reports to:
OU Manager Purpose The objective of the Engineering and Operations Manager role is to Assist the OU manager to plan, direct, coordinate and oversee all aspects of the engineering and delivery services required to achieve efficient operations and cost-effective implementation of SCADA/DMS/EMS systems to meet current and future needs of the organization.
The following are some of the primary objectives of this role:
Manage resources and oversee a timely delivery of support to all projects within scope and budget Provide cost estimates and help define strategy to support the proposal/sales process of new opportunities Drive continuous improvement of domain knowledge, coordinate training and support required processes and practices Define and report KPI measurements and implementing corrective actions to deliver a high level of customer satisfaction Primary Responsibilities Oversee supply chain management support and ensure timely and cost effective delivery of the materials required to support project execution Provide direction and guidance for all customer commitments Participate in short-term and long-range planning and budget development to support strategic business goals.
Coordinate with Finance and Legal departments to develop and/or maintain internal control systems to ensure accountability Ensure implementation of formal processes to support system and service deliveries.
Establish strategy to meet the performance goals, allocate resources and set priorities for the organization.
Evaluate operational processes and procedures, and develop strategies and implementation plans to improve and standardize all aspects of operations Ensure coordination of project commitments with product management and release cycles.
Act as an intermediary between the company's top executives and the PSO management team to make sure the company's strategic vision is communicated accurately and implemented effectively Provide leadership for the overall operating performance of the business.
Guide successful customer commitment deliveries for company products and services.
Hire and direct PSO management staff to acquire necessary resources and plan to meet scheduled commitments.
Coordinate with PSO management staff to ensure training and skill development needs are met to satisfy customer demands.
Ensures (with HR support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed.
Guides, motivates, coaches, and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR polices.
Some national and international travel may be required.
Functional skills, qualifications and experience Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communications skills are required to achieve cooperation, negotiate, and reach agreement with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of electrical utility business process and EMS/DMS applications to help resolve technical problems and provide guidance to group members.
Ability to manage priorities and operate in a resource constrained environment is a must.
Degree in engineering, business, or computer science field 10
years of experience in delivery of services for the utilities sector Understanding of SCADA, EMS and DMS applications and experience in project delivery Knowledge of IT technologies and systems Organizational behaviors Employee is required to proactively support the Hitachi Energy working culture based behaviors.
