SUMMARYProvides strategic advice and support to senior management as well as being responsible for financial and administrative operations including procedures, controls, planning and reporting and analysis for the corporate entities.
Provides guidance to business units regarding corporate financial systems to develop consistency across the business units and ensure accurate consolidation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMay include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible for the financial stewardship of the plant financial statements, including ensuring the provision of adequate internal controls and safeguarding of assets.
Directs the maintenance of the accounting records and accounting systems and processes.
Ensures compliance with appropriate legislation related to effective design, and operation of appropriate internal controls.
Ensures financial policies and procedures are adhered to.
Ensures accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end and year end reporting of financial assets.
Prepares month-end and quarter-end analysis of balance sheet and income statement.
Partners with Operation Leadership to ensure that results are in line with strategic objectives, budget and forecast.
Responsible for annual budgeting process and monthly forecast.
Involves operations leadership to ensure the budget and forecasts are realistic and consistent with the Business' strategic goals.
Liaison with external auditors and internal auditor as part of the quarterly reviews and year-end audit and SOX Compliance testing.
Administer GST/PST filings and other regulatory compliance obligations.
Supervises and trains less complex day-to-day general accounting functions and accounting operations which include coding invoices and compilation of data for various accounting reports.
Holds regular communication meetings with Finance staff EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study Professional Accounting designation required Treasury / Banking experience 5 years of applicable experience in a manufacturing environment with multi-sites 3 years of experience supervising employees JDE experience required PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENTThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office.
Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.
May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
