It's an entry level role in that area that functions as a junior advisor to the team.
You will coordinate institutional reporting for the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and monitor institutional compliance with federal regulations.
You will counsel international students and scholars on immigration laws and cross-cultural adjustments.
It will be important that you know how to manipulate data and run reports.
This position will be responsible for pulling facts and figures, analyzing them, and presenting them to the team.
This is a full time position that works normal business hours Monday through Friday.
It will be located in the Texas Medical Center at our University Center Tower on Fannin.
The building is easily accessible from both Metro rail and bus lines.

It will require an employee to be on-site for training, and to work a hybrid schedule onsite at our University Center Tower.

Summary:
Coordinates institutional reporting for the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and monitors institutional compliance with federal regulations.
Counsels international students and scholars on immigration laws and cross-cultural adjustments.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Assists with international student and scholar check-ins and orientations.
Coordinates upgrades to system as needed.
Serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for coordinating institutional compliance with federal regulations governing international students and scholars.
Communicates and advises departments and programs on visa concerns and immigration status of international students and scholars in designated departments and/or programs.
Prepares all mandatory reports (e.
g.
Coordinating Board, Open Doors, SEVIS) for Directors signature.
Authorizes international students and scholars, through the U.
S.
Department of Homeland Security and the U.
S.
Department of State procedures and regulations to receive visa status, extensions of stay, employment and practical training, reduced course loads and transfers to and from the institution.
Reconciles, verifies, monitors and updates fsaAtlas and data reported to SEVIS.
Compiles and analyzes data for reports and publications.
Creates and maintains communication systems for alerts to international students, scholars, trainees, staff, employees, and visitors regarding compliance with their visa status and any changes to the regulations and/or institutional policies.
Manages special projects.
Performs other job duties as assigned.
