Summary:
We are looking for a Programmer Analyst II for the department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
This employee provides technical skills required to translate system analysis type definitions to reports, charts, and diagrams, from which programmers can efficiently perform their tasks.
Responsible for grasping overall concepts and objectives of the entire system study and programming projects.
You will need to be proficient working in Linux environments that focus on data and scientific analysis.
You will handle installs, upgrades, and management of storage.
Coding in C and C+
is required as well.

Maintain Linux-based cluster for scientific analysis including:
Installation and upgrades of OS and security patches, libraries, user management, commissioning of new hardware, management of the storage nodes, etc.
Good working knowledge of Linux OS and commonly used network protocols:
ssh, ftp, nfs, yp, etc.
Ability to compile diverse C/C+
code, installation and compilation of diverse software and libraries Support of parallel cluster computation scheduling software such as PBS, SGE, etc.
Good working knowledge of C/C+
is desired.
Responsible for the maintenance of completed/existing programs and systems.
Other duties as assigned Certification/Skills:
Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and programming.
Knowledgeable with Linux O/S and using it with dataMinimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, related field or relevant experience in lieu of education.
Minimum
Experience:
Two years of programming experience in a Linux environment.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive:
This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code 51.

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
