Three times a week Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)Will lead and oversee the accounting of our power plants, fixed asset and development efforts for Calpine Corporation and subsidiaries, which includes key accounting and reporting processes as well as internal and external reporting of financial results related to these areas.
Key responsibilities will include:
Accounting team leadership role with responsibility for the monthly fixed asset, construction and development and generating fleet accounting close process.
Working collaboratively with the plant operations team to record operating expenses, and calculation and reporting of depreciation expense for our generation fleet.
Additionally, this role will be responsible for design, implementation and maintenance of a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that financial reporting information is prepared in compliance with all financial policies.
Job Responsibilities Will have direct management responsibility of the following:
General Accountants , Credit Manager & Accounts Payable/Billing Supervisor.
oSupervises the completion of Federal and State tax reporting requirements.
oManages multiple department functions with an operational focus.
oManages activities of broad functional area through first level management and professionals, including full human resources, cost and budgetary accountability.
Decisions typically related to implementation of department strategy, intradepartmental coordination, and business outcomes.
oResults have significant impact on costs and achievement of department objectives.
oIdentifies opportunities which make a significant difference to the performance of multiple department functions and possibly organization-wide impact.
oMakes decisions for large-scale projects, a closely related set of projects and/or initiatives involving multiple functional areas.
Establishes operational objectives for multiple functions including work plans and delegating assignments to subordinate managers and senior professionals.
oWorks within broad guidelines; applies advanced technical knowledge of multiple functions to solve complex problems which may have long-term impact on the department.
Manages multiple functions within a department with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and employees.
oResponsible for performance reviews, promotional decisions, and pay actions for top professionals and management.
Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree Accounting or Finance, prefer Master's Degree.
Previous management experience.
CPA preferred Typically requires minimum of 15
years in area of specialization.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
