Please ApplyAbout the roleThe Senior Analyst will apply a combination of technical and commercial knowledge to support the development activities of large scale, complex Biomass Energy Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) projects from site feasibility stage through to COD.
The role will support the Permit Managers, Engineering Managers, Development Directors and other Development VPs on multiple sites and flex between each site and teams as projects move.
Each site will have various activities ongoing at a different pace depending on the maturity of site development.
The Senior Analyst will coordinate work with technical consultants and internal specialists within Drax to perform technical and financial analysis for the projects.
The role will support the VP Project Management in monitoring project management activities associated with development process by tracking the scope, budget and schedule for each assigned project and reporting those to various internal functions.
Supports Project Managers and/or VP Project Management on negotiation of land/site acquisition, tax abatement, permitting, preliminary engineering, offtake agreements, & other development contracts.
Coordinates and provides input to development studies with technical consultants and internal specialists.
Supports VP North American projects and VP Development as needed.
Key Accountabilities:
As Senior Analyst, you'll be required to support BECCS project development by providing support to the VPs and Project Managers across North America in all site development activities.
This can include but not limited to:
Developing Project Plans from design through to execution, identifying risks and opportunities where applicable.
Monitoring and tracking development progress of projects, including in areas of land/site acquisition, tax abatement, permitting, and other development contracts, and providing timely updates.
Regularly update project scope, schedule and budget metrics and documents by monitoring project progress and working with PM consultants, and internal specialists for each site.
Assisting with developing materials for senior management level presentations.
Actively promoting a proactive safety culture.
Fostering and enhancing relationships with landowners, subcontractors, vendors and other counterparties.
About YouKnowledge, Skills and Experience required:

S.
in Engineering, Construction Management or similar field required.
2-5 years of relevant industry experience - energy/construction Ability to identify and gather information sources, interpret data, and apply technical knowledge to support project development activities Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels across the organization.
Ability to manage complexity and thrives in an uncertain environment.
Ability to meet challenging targets and with a flexible approach to working patterns.
Positive approach to change and contributes to the culture of continuous improvement.
Ability to see the big picture in order to recognize and take advantage of potential business opportunities.
Proven experience of Stakeholder Management with skills to recognize and build key relationships internally and externally, proactively influencing workstreams within the company, consultants, contractors, engineering firms and technology partners.
Experience and capability to coach and develop Analysts with technical skills and commercial awareness.
Special Features Travel as required to Drax locations as well as to supplier/partner locations.
There may be occasional travel to Canada.
Travel could be up to 50% of time during key project activities.
