$104K - $132K a year Acute Care Nurse Practitioner We currently have openings for Acute Care Nurse Practitioners with Razzack and Associates to work in the Intensive Care Unit and Intermediate Care Unit at Houston Methodist West Hospital and Houston Methodist Continuing Care Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Razzack and Associates is an established and well respected Pulmonary, Critical Care Intensivist, and Sleep Medicine group.
The group currently consists of 6 Physicians and 22 Nurse Practitioners.
The Nurse Practitioner group is responsible for 24-hour coverage of the Intensive Care Unit and Intermediate Care Unit at Houston Methodist West and Houston Methodist Continuing Care Hospital.
The position is a night shift from 6 pm to 7 am.

Role and Responsibilities Evaluating and treating patients presenting for acute and chronic illness and responding to emergencies in the hospital.
In our practice, the Nurse Practitioner has significant autonomy in the care of the patient with strong support from the intensivists.
Obtain and record the patient's medical history, physical exam, and the impression and plan in the electronic medical record.
Order and interpret appropriate tests.
Perform medical procedures including but not limited to intubation, central line and hemodialysis catheter placement, arterial line placement, thoracentesis, and chest tube placement.
Teaching and counseling patients about current illness and treatment recommendations.
It will also be necessary to make referrals to specialists when appropriate and help educate the medical and hospital staff.
Promotes safe care to patients while adhering to policies, procedures, and standards of care in line with our hospital partners.
Independent worker who strives for professional growth and development, is a resource to the patient, family, and staff and serves as a mentor and preceptor.
Provides and assists nursing and medical staff with clinical decision-making and evaluates patients for changes in condition.
Leads daily multidisciplinary rounds by collecting and analyzing patient data, developing a plan of care, and evaluating and changing the appropriateness of the care.
Requirement and Qualifications Master's degree in Nursing with certification by national credentialing body as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
Current Texas Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and prescriptive authority.
Certified and current in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications.
Able to obtain and maintain a current DEA license.
Preferred three years clinical nursing experience in critical care and two years' experience in an Advanced Practice role.
