Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved LVN/RN program and licensed in the state of practice required Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience in skilled nursing facility preferred Knowledge of care plan process Strong attention to detail, documentation, and resident assessment skills Experience with electronic medical records preferred What it takes to be a Charge Nurse:
The Charge Nurse will facilitate the provision of patient care as prescribed by the attending physician, assist with directing patient care, and assign duties to nursing assistants as appropriate under the supervision of the DON.
Responsibilities:
Help evaluate, plan, and organize nursing care according to established policies.
Assists in pre-screening, room assignments, and discharge of residents.
Helps see that a nurse accompanies all physicians making rounds and that all orders are carried out.
Assists with supervising all nursing activities and promotes improvement in nursing care under the direction of the DON.
Makes rounds as required.
Maintains comfortable and pleasant environment and promotes elimination of hazards.
Assists with interviewing, evaluating, and selecting new personnel.
Performs On-Call duty as assigned and covers a LVN floor shift, as needed.
Notifies the physician, resident, and family/POA of any new or unusual findings as indicated.
Maintains confidentiality of necessary information.
Promotes positive interactions with internal and external customers, visitors, residents, and team members.
Provides excellent customer service that supports resident care.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.
Conducts self in a professional manner and in compliance with facility policies.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
