Summary:
The Cast Tech/Ortho Tech is responsible for application and removal of casts as well as bracing.
The position has a significant amount of patient contact during the fitting of braces and casting.
The Cast Tech/Ortho Tech ensures the proper maintenance, record keeping, and ordering of equipment and/or inventory.
The position will include but not be limited to the following job duties.
:
Casting and bracing upper and lower extremities per physician order Educate and instruct patients in the proper use of equipment Understand and utilize insurance policies in regards to equipment to educate patients of coverage and cost Responsible for paperwork completion Required to keep inventory control Adhere to hospital and facility protocols Other duties as assigned Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of one year casting and bracing experience a must Effective written and oral communication skills Demonstrated computer experience, including a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office as well as using billing software.
The ideal candidate must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check and Drug Test for employment.
