Application Dev COE, Specialist at LyondellBasell Industries in Houston, TX
Basic Function Candidate will review and provide guidance for the various technical projects of the Global Technology Services (GTS) team. This position will be a technical track and not have any direct reports, rather focus strictly on technology and application to the LYB environment. The role will work with product team managers and with technical leads to design and implement technical solutions. The position will perform the day-to-day duties on the team, work on call, etc. This role will be integral to an agile development team tasked with the design, development and support of cloud-based application design, delivery, and automation with cloud-first mindset to assure faster development, value realization, and better customer experience. Roles & Responsibilities Design, develop, implement, support, and maintain multi-tier solutions based on business requirements primarily using application code for cloud and desktop solutions. Monitor and debug production systems and work to continuously improve availability, performance, and quality. Achieve automation & orchestration of tools and workloads around multiple cloud platforms. Follow development policies, standards, and guidelines for application development, change management and support to ensure quality, consistency, and reliability. Understand business requirements, design solutions to meet those requirements, estimate complexity for implementation and decompose epics and stories into technical implementation tasks. Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts and architects to find solutions to achieve business aims. Learn new concepts and technologies fast and apply in an agile manner. Stay current on LyondellBasell IT strategies and standards and influence customers in support of the strategies and standards. Develop and support both internal web applications and vendor-based application development platforms relative to the digital security function. Adapt best practices in the SecDevOps methodology for application development. Identify areas for process improvement and drive efficiency. Detect? troubleshoot and debug issues that arise. Participate in the team's work at all levels of the architecture. Evaluate and integrate security protocols into existing software applications and programs. Stay informed on new tools and best practices of the industry. Provide technical project and architecture documentation. Act as mentor to junior team members and participate in knowledge transfer activities. Attend training and maintain relevant industry certifications. Min. Qualifications Bachelor's degree (or higher) in related field, e.g. Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering. Minimum 5 years of experience in the full application development lifecycle (i.e. requirements gathering, functional and technical design, development, build, installation, documentation, and code management). Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Azure Cloud technologies, solutions, services, and products. Deep functional knowledge and technical understanding of cloud computing services and demonstrated success implementing business workflows and automation. Experience working within an Agile development environment. Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision and superior decision-making, analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to apply strong communication skills to resolve conflict professionally and routinely interact in cross-functional groups. Build solutions to fit working with continuous integration, continuous testing and continuous delivery. Experiences with code refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, continuous deployment, highly scalable applications, application security. Experience working in a global corporate IT department supporting enterprise applications.15

$100K -- $150K
