Front End Software Engineer at Schlumberger in Houston, TX
The Front End Software Engineer develops the front end of a web application, i.e. the visual elements that users see and interact with in a web application. The Developer evaluates emerging technologies and provides strategic innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions to increase efficiency, reliability and integration of Schlumberger services and operations, working in a semi-autonomous environment where fast prototyping emerging technologies to solve industry-related problems is the rule. The position reports to the software project manager. Responsibilities o Work with the product design teams to understand end user requirements. o Work with business group to understand use cases and map to screens and components. o Building, deploying front end applications o Adopts test strategies to ensure and maintain source code quality. o Evaluates web engineering approaches, assesses risks and makes improvements. o Develops and maintains new or improved software products and techniques, working in a semiautonomous environment where fast prototyping with emerging technologies to solve industryrelated problems is the rule. Background o Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or related with minimum 3 years working experience Skills and Knowledge:
o Experience with one or more Cloud Platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure o Experience with container technologies o Knowledge of one or more open-source framework for front-end development like React, Angular etc. o Knowledge of applicable design patterns for the front end o Knowledge of Restful architecture and use cases o Knowledge /experience/awareness in maintainability and testing. o Experience with one or more continuous integration and continuous delivery technologies such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc o Experience with test driven software development
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Software DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
