Summary:
Provide overall accounting oversight and support to the Government Solutions United States (GSUS) organization to contribute to the success of a $5
billion organization. This position is primarily responsible for providing overall accounting support, with primary focus on all components that impact revenue recognition (ASC 606). Job
Responsibilities:
Responsible for monthly close process for GSUS, including the quarterly calendar month-end accruals, which involves coordination with all businesses and major projects, and communicating any possible close related delays and systems issues. Provide guidance to the GSUS Business Units (BU) and review the BU Revenue Recognition Evaluation Templates and Memos while establishing a well-defined process to ensure compliance with applicable SOX controls. Assist in the review of the revenue impacts on indirect rate variances and communicating recommendations on updated target indirect rates as they impact revenue recognition. Support BUs Unbilled to A/R and Contract Asset/Liability review. Provide oversight and support over joint venture setup and day-to-day accounting ensuring VIE, revenue recognition and SOX compliance aspects are properly vetted, communicated, and managed. Provide oversight and guidance to BUs over when to recognize revenue while working at risk. Support the quarterly claims and change order review with the BU and Corporate Accounting. Responsible for the accounting of the GSUS unallowable cost reserve each quarter, including reviewing the reserves and changes in reserves with Government Accounting and finance leadership. Coordinate with external & internal auditors for financial statement audit and SOX compliance and assessments. Ensure compliance of KBR accounting policies, business practices, and US GAAP, FAR & CAS including contract revenue and profit recognition in working with BU finance leadership. Works with the team to identify technology and potential enhancements to enable best practices in financial processes and procedures across the BU. Perform overall review of reconciliation of project ledgers to the GL. Lead the periodic financial statement review process. Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related technical field 10
years of experience, 2
of which should be in managerial capacity. Strong knowledge of FAR and CAS rules Advanced knowledge of Costpoint and Cognos (Oracle HFM/FCCS preferred). Excellent written and verbal communication skill in English. Ability to present and influence and executive audience Ability to lead managers and collaborate across boundaries Problem solving and critical thinking ability required Excellent data analysis skills Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with management Good Interpersonal skills and abilities to work well with others Able to earn others' trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions. Domestic travel required as needed to support the position An understanding of company's financial statements, financial performance metrics, and how one's actions will impact financial results.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
