Position Summary Responsible to develop, review, and manage encryption/decryption for RF communication links. Specifically, CCSDS space data link security protocol, AES/GCM (NIST security requirements FIPS 197 AES, SP800-38D), FIPS validation processes (FIPS 140-3), Key loading interfaces (EKMS 308), and hardware/software implementations Duties & Responsibilities Responsible to develop, review, and manage encryption/decryption for RF communication links. Specifically, CCSDS space data link security protocol, AES/GCM (NIST security requirements FIPS 197 AES, SP800-38D), FIPS validation processes (FIPS 140-3), Key loading interfaces (EKMS 308), and hardware/software implementations Responsible for validation/verification/testing of security requirements for NASA Gateway program Responsible for management of Key Management Plans within COMSEC Responsible for key loading devices including developing key loading procedures and experience in loading keys Actively participate and contribute to Systems Requirements Reviews, Preliminary & Critical Design Reviews, Component Level Reviews, and Technical Interchange Meetings Perform analysis using software such as Matlab, Simulink, and Excel Assist and support NASA RF communication subsystem manager with reviews, meetings and be the technical point of contact Other duties as required Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities Reporting Relationship This position reports to the Project or Program Manager Qualifications Required:
BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering school and five (5) years of related engineering experience Advanced degrees in relevant disciplines may be counted as experience Must have completed college-level RF Communications coursework Experience or excellent knowledge of communication security and encryption Experience in loading key devices Knowledge of encryption/decryption for RF communication links Excellent communication and organizational skills along with the ability to work in a team environment Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation Requisition Preferences:
Strong analytical skills in RF communications and security encryption Security Clearance is a plus
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Electrical Engineering, Hardware Development, IT SecurityEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
