CBST-10949862-21-AMA Major duties for the Registered Respiratory Therapist include, but are not limited to:
Responding to Code Blue's (CPR) and Rapid Response Team (RRT) calls Performing emergency tracheal intubation upon certification and airway management during a cardiac or respiratory arrest; In collaboration with the attending physician, initiating mechanical ventilation, selecting the equipment and settings relative to the patients needs based on assessment of the patient and physician orders; Monitoring mechanic ventilation via Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) results, chest auscultation, chest x-rays, bedside pulmonary functions, clinical observations and adjusts parameters accordingly; Managing airway to include suctioning, securing the airway, and other hygiene functions are shared with nursing personnel; Administering and monitoring oxygen to include High Flow Oxygen per policy and procedures; Initiating hyperinflation therapies to include, but not limited to, acapella, incentive spirometry or other PAP therapies in accordance to physician's orders or protocol; Performing arterial blood gas punctures (radial/brachial, and femoral sticks with physician approval), analysis and report results, particularly critical values to physician and or primary nurse; Monitoring lunch mechanics as part of total patient assessment when on mechanical ventilation. Work Schedule:
Night Shift and weekends to include 8 and 12 hour tours. Weekends:
Saturdays and Sundays. Monday-Friday, 8 hours tour (2:

15pm or 10:

15am), and 12 hours tour (6:
45pm - 7:

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation and meet the criteria). Full performance level of position is GS-8. Candidate may be chosen at GS-7 or GS-8 level based on their qualifications. References:

The work requires standing and walking for prolonged periods of time. The therapist must frequently bend, reach, stoop, and stretch to set up and disassemble respiratory equipment, position patients, perform CPR and push/pull moderately heavy objects such as ventilators and gas cylinders. The work requires above average dexterity and agility to perform intricate respiratory therapy procedures in confined areas of the intensive care units

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
