This job opportunity announcement is for a temporary appointment not to exceed one year. APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO REPORT WITHIN THREE DAYS AFTER SELECTION IS MADE. Major duties of this position include but are not limited to:
Exhibits strong customer service. Develops and maintains effective and efficient communication with patients, the interdisciplinary care team, other MEDVAMC departments. Monitors pre-appointment requirements to assure readiness for patient visit/procedure in the Optical Shop. Schedules care via negotiated appointments with patients and providers. Performs duties related to the receipt, intake, indexing, and other processing of Veteran health and Optical Shop operational administrative information. Process incoming and outgoing material such as correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication. Utilizes a computer and office automation software applications to perform job duties. Responds to Veteran and family phone calls and secure messages. Coordinates triage of unscheduled patients. Program Support Assistant/3612-O Physical Requirements:
No special physical qualifications are required to perform the work. The work requires the ability to move around the office and carry light items such as small boxes of files. Much of the work is performed viewing a computer monitor. There are no requirements for special safety precautions or protective clothing. Work is performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office and includes everyday risks which require normal safety precautions. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. GS-07 grade level:
One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes:
1) serving as an administrative support staff person, ensuring administrative procedures are accomplished according to medical center policies; 2) performing receptionist duties for a medical office; 3) experience with computer programs, hardware and software, electronic forms, and database tools. Note:
This experience must be supported by your resume to be creditable. There is no educational substitution for the GS-07 level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
