Clinical Executive of the Eye Care Line

The Clinical Executive of the Eye Care Line is responsible for oversight and performance measures of all Eye Care Line operations at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The Incumbent reports directly to the Chief of Staff and is a key clinical resource for the Medical Center Director. The individual possesses excellent interpersonal skills and leadership capabilities. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provides and/or supervises care to patients with a variety of ophthalmic disease. Delivers patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Interacts and collaborates with various clinical and administrative departments of the facility. Oversees the facility Ophthalmology internship/residency programs. Performs Ophthalmic Clinical Evaluation Exercises on all residents. Supervises and evaluates the clinical and surgical performance of all Ophthalmologists, as well as evaluating and supervising Optometrists. Participate in quality improvement activities and foster a high level of patient and staff satisfaction. Conduct Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations. Provide medical opinions/peer reviews for Ophthalmology Tort claims. Perform minor and major ophthalmic surgical procedures. Complete clinical charting and documentation appropriately and in a timely manner. Work Schedule:

United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Experience:
Experience in clinical leadership in a hospital setting; Academic appointment with the VA affiliate, Baylor College of Medicine Reference:
VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-2 Physician Qualification Standard. This can be found in the local Human Resources Office. Physical Requirements:
VA Directive and Handbook 5019, applicants must be able to perform the duties as a Physician. Light lifting (under 15lbs), light carrying (under 15lbs), use of fingers, far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and 20/40 in the other, hearing (aid permitted), emotional stability, mental stability.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
