Oil & Gas JOB OVERVIEWDevelops, writes, and edits technical training material for manuals, operating procedures, and related technical training.
Essential FunctionsInclude the followingOther duties may be assignedWorks with subject matter experts to create training materialsInterviews production and engineering personnel, SME's and reads other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methodsReviews manufacturer's and trade catalogs, drawings, and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service equipmentStudies P&ID's, PFD's, sketches, drawings, specifications, to integrate into procedures, and training materialsOrganizes material and completes writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology using Microsoft templates and Visio drawingsReview published materials and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, and contentMaintains records and files of work and revisionsSelects or creates photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.
Key CompetenciesPreferred Petrochemical or Refinery backgroundAbility to write simple correspondence and to effectively present information to other employees of the organizationAbility to write clearly and informativelyAbility to efficiently edit work for spelling and grammarCapability to vary writing style to meet needsAbility to read and interpret written informationMust be proficient using Microsoft Office and Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Visio Technical, Image/Photo editing applications and DocumentumWorking knowledge of document scanning hardware and software.
QualificationsAssociate's degree (A.

) or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school, or 5-9 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceHighly Preferred Petrochemical or Refinery backgroundNote:

) experience with a working knowledge of process units.
