Position Requirements o Big 4 public or equivalent industry experience (i.
e.
financial reporting, accounting policy).
o Industry experience in life insurance or related financial services with knowledge of statutory accounting principles preferred.
o Bachelors or Masters Degree in Accounting.
o CPA preferred.
o Excellent written and oral communication skills.
o Adept at working collaboratively in a team environment.
o Self-directed and able to demonstrate strong organizational skills and ability to learn quickly.
Organization Structure Performance Objectives:
o Evaluate and recommend Statutory (SAP) and GAAP accounting treatment for unusual, and/or complex transactions.
o Evaluate and recommend accounting treatment for new products/product enhancements, investments, etc.
o Evaluate and document the effect of proposed transactions on actual and required capital and financial results.
o Develop technical accounting policy documentation.
o Evaluate peer company disclosures and recommend enhancements to L&R Companies' disclosures.
o Maintain a current working knowledge of pertinent developments in the accounting regulatory environment.
o Prepare and present training to financial staff on accounting issues.
o Serve as a resource to others on life insurance accounting issues.
o Assist with special projects and key strategic initiatives.
o Coordinate activities with Accounting Policy colleagues in other groups.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
