Program Specialist CollegeCommunityCareer Houston, TX Full Time Program Specialist for a Non-Profit A college success nonprofit in the Houston area is seeking full time Program Specialist.
Some evenings and Saturdays are required.
The Program Specialist is responsible for coordinating the daily programmatic requirements of CollegeCommunityCareer's after school program and ensuring students reach key programmatic goals in four key areas:
college success, leadership development, career discovery and civic engagement
Responsibilities:
Programmatic Record, track and report student progress to ensure continued student success and programmatic continuity between sites Teach some 10th, 11th and/or 12th grade classes at partner sites and ensure Coaches/Mentors are successful Assist in training Coach/Mentors Oversee student and family engagement communication Organize and attend community service events for students Oversee student recruitment at new and existing partner sites Coordinate events for students, parents and partnering organizations Keep up-to -date on college success best practices Contribute to content and messaging on social media platforms Represent CollegeCommunityCareer at public and industry events Organizational Assist with other duties as assigned by Executive Director
Qualifications:
Required Bachelor's degree 2-3 years in education, youth development/youth program administration and/or non-profit organization Formal qualification in the College Admission Process or be pursuing Reliable transportation, pass a background check Fundamental belief in the mission and vision of CollegeCommunityCareer Experience working with diverse/underserved populations, fluency in Spanish preferred A positive outlook, willingness to collaborate, manages time well Ability to work independently and take initiative, yet also take direction and collaborate Recalls fondly their time in High School and College time 2 references, one from last place of employment required Salary commensurate with experience.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
