Build and Release Developer Roles &
Responsibilities:
The Build and Release Developer works directly with the Release Manager, supporting development leadership team members to define common build and deployment, code promotion and release management strategies for the Evolve project. These responsibilities cover Build and Environment Management, User Acceptance Testing Coordination, and oversight of Production Support and Release Quality.
The Build and Release Developer will be responsible for working with IT to manage TFS and InRelease applications, including defining and optimizing underlying software development processes supporting builds and release management. The position focuses on ensuring that software release processes are consistent across all environments from early development all the way through to production release and maintenance support.
Skills & Experience
5
years in a release management role, overseeing production deployments, readiness checks and retrospective reviews, experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Test Manager and/or Lab Manager are required
Experience with virtualization technologies, including VMWare / vSphere. Automation/scripting experience for environment creation and/or control is desired.
Strong understanding of automated build processes/practices and code management techniques
Experience customizing TFS ALM templates to meet project needs; have worked through at least one TFS upgrade or migration to TFS from another solution
Experience working in agile pods or scrum teams, within the confines of iteration based ALM and SDLC practices, as well as deep experience in all facets of agile development.
Exposure to security, penetration testing and performance/scalability testing required.
Experience managing external user tests (UAT and/or usability)
Must have 5
years of demonstrated coding / scripting expertise supporting automated, builds, deployments and/or tests (windows or web installers, Windows Powershel and GIT experience preferred).
